A rehab center is a hope for millions of people affected by addiction to alcohol and drugs. It is important to understand that addiction of any kind faced by many people today is also a disorder which can be treated at a rehab center. There is an addiction treatment which helps individuals recover from their addiction and lead a normal life. Yet, there are many who do not undergo a drug rehab and loose the precious time of their life suffering from this disorder for a very long time. This condition not only affects the individuals but also has an adverse impact on their families, relatives, and friends. So, choosing the right rehab center for the effected person is essential at the right time.

The recovery time in drug rehabilitation varies from one person to another. Many also require more than one kind of treatment in order to recover completely from their addiction. The success of the treatment at a rehab center also depends on the cooperation of the individual and the support of their families. It should also be kept in mind that drug addiction is a chronic disorder which can also relapse due to which taking treatment just once may not be sufficient. So, it usually involves treatment for a longer duration as well as few intermittent treatments according to their effect and response of an individual.

Advantages of a Rehab Center:

* It provides various types of treatments to suit the needs of individuals affected by drug addiction.

* It also helps the addicts live in a clean and appropriate environment which makes them forget their worries of daily life and relax and recover through various treatments.

* People with similar conditions when made to live together in a residential rehab center also learn many positive skills and thoughts from each other. It is a learning experience for many and seeing everybody around recover also gives them the hope and motivation to recover soon.

* Apart from the treatment and medication that a rehab center provides to an addict, there is also a great amount of emotional and physical support that they get from the caring staff. These factors help the addicts recover at the center. They always instill a positive attitude and motivate the addicts, which becomes a strong source of hope making them recover at a faster pace.

* Addicts also suffer from withdrawal symptoms during the course of their treatment which can be a very difficult and stressful period. A rehabilitation center is of great help during this time as their professional approach ensures the health and safety of the addict.

* The counseling sessions at the center are also an eye opener for many addicts who have experienced to suffer from their addiction mostly in isolation. The expert guidance at such centers plays a vital role in the recovery process.

Identifying the need of your loved ones for drug rehabilitation and taking them to a rehab center is very essential and should not be ignored. Help them recover from this disorder and live a healthy and normal life.

It is important to search for a reputed Rehab Center if anybody’s friend or relative has an addiction problem. A reliable Rehab Center studies the victim’s case properly and decides on the most suitable treatment for him. Every victim has specific addiction problems; therefore the treatment should be specifically tailored to suit the individual. Reliable drug rehab centers have medical experts who treat the problem through medicines so that the victim does not have the urge for drug or alcohol intake. The center also has counselors and psychologists who try to find the root of the problem. Many individual may become a victim of drug, alcohol, and other addictions due to peer pressure. Also, there may be other victims who take to drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, and other addictions due to some problem in their lives.

Some individuals may have a behavior problem or a family problem like divorced parents or a bad relationship. Every individual resorts to addiction for different reasons, so it is important that the Rehab Center detects the root of the addiction. This will ensure that the victim gets the right guidance to handle problems in his life. Sometimes it is a good idea to select a center which requires the victim to stay at the site for the treatment.

This takes the victim away from his familiar surroundings where there is greater scope to return to his addiction. Also, by staying away from the friends and family for a certain time period, he is away from peer pressure or the problems that caused him to depend on drugs or alcohol.

Insurance Policy should Finance Treatment

Good addiction treatment programs also require the victim to stay with his family during a certain part of his treatment. During that time he receives necessary counseling to adjust to his family problems and other negative factors like peer pressure which were responsible for his addiction. It is essential to get professional help from medical and psychological experts of a reputed Rehab Center as without a proper treatment program addiction problems cannot be overcome completely. It is a good idea to search on the internet for a reputed center which has a good record of successfully treating victims of different kinds of addictions. A person should also visit the center personally and check out the facilities provided for the victims.

The parent or guardian should also confirm if the addiction treatment will be covered by the victim’s insurance policy. Reliable centers provide short-term refresher treatments intermittently which help the victim renew his determination against his addiction in spite of external factors like peer pressure or other family problems. These help the victim control his addiction under all circumstances.

By searching for a reliable Rehab Center, a person can help his child or dear one overcome his addiction completely.

Search for a reputed Rehab Center which has expert medical specialists and psychologists to determine the reason of addiction and provide appropriate addiction treatment for complete recovery.

The news often reports about drug rehab recently. You read or watch about celebrities checking into drug rehab centers or facilities, well known or not. Getting to finish at least one month in a drug treatment facility is almost considered as an award. However, what the real problem is is the ratio among the individuals we get to read in the newspaper and/or watch on TV and the many others who really need rehab. The problem is choosing the right rehab clinic that is going to help you get back on the saddle.

For many patients, choosing the right rehab clinic depends on the place that will be right according to their present circumstance. Any person with a high level of family and work commitment will be more inclined in selecting out-patient rehab programs. Those who want to get over their addiction to drugs with dangerous withdrawal symptoms could be worked out better when using in-patient treatment facilities. Meanwhile, the choice of the right rehab clinic depends on the scientific approach that the centers take.

Relapse prevention

This specific aspect used to be for alcoholics only but has been a success for those addicted to cocaine. In this type of rehab program, therapy for substance abuse stresses on the learning of new and way better behavior replacing the ignorance of a past worse habit. Cognitive behavioral treatment along with a drug-abstinence approach is utilized in aiding patients to learn self-control and resistance to surrounding temptations.

Matrix model

Such a model suits stimulant addicts very well. A patient is taught to handle symptom of addiction and the indications of relapse as well as tell them what they are like. Therapists work with patients and they will also introduce them to different types of self-help programs. Likewise, the former will be testing the latter’s urine and/or blood on a regular basis to make sure that patients’ stay free of drugs. Stress is given on boosting patients’ self-esteem and renewing self-worth. There are many addiction facilities that make use of this model effectively.

Supportive-expressive therapy

This type of drug therapy is best for those who deal with addictions to heroin and cocaine, respectively. Therapists, along with patients, will work in the creation of an environment wherein addicts are comfortable in talking about what they’ve experienced before going to rehab as well as the situations and behaviors that led them to addiction. Aside from that, therapists will also be working with patients in developing ways that will aid the patients in dealing with circumstances that give them the tendency to use drugs.

Given these methods, choosing the right rehab clinic is going to be about what will suit the patients the most. It is relevant to note the persons’ personalities and the situations they are presently in. all these could be applied to both in- as well as out-patient drug rehab centers. Just take into consideration all possibilities in choosing the right rehab clinic. Patients are more probable to be sober and stay such when programs match their individual personalities and the circumstances they are in.

Different kinds of treatments are already proven effective for Drug Misuse but many people like you still yield to addiction and continue living without treatment. A helping hand for Drug rehab clinics is readily available for you and your loved ones by going to our site.

If you think you are alone in your drug addiction, think again. The fact is there are so many of us who have difficulty kicking this problem. Without the right kind of help though, you can be sure you will most likely not succeed. If you have someone who is also addicted, that can help if you both work at it together. If you have family and friends as a good support group, that can help. It seems, however; that the best way you can receive proper help is through the work of professionals.

Drug rehab clinics provide that level of professionalism and expertise you simply cannot get from friends or relatives. They have the knowledge and experience required for a successful transition from drug addict, to a drug free citizen. Many of those who were once held captive by these drugs are now actually working in these clinics and there is a good reason for that. These people carry with them the knowledge of being addicted, therefore; they know what it is like to have these addictions, and they know how to conquer their demons and survive a full recovery. You simply cannot over estimate the power of experience.

Surviving drug rehab requires serious intervention. Those who do not use drug rehab facilities to beat addiction are much more likely to relapse back into the habit. These clinics provide a slow dose wean off of drugs, and combine that with extracurricular activities to keep the mind focused on other things. It is true that a mind that is occupied is a mind that does not wander into unhealthy habits. These activities include sports activities and group activities. This is so important; you do not want to resort to other unhealthy habits. You do not want to replace drug addiction with overeating or smoking.

Drug rehab does not have to be torture. If you are in with a group of people that all have a common goal, then you are much more likely to achieve that goal. As a patient in a drug rehab facility, there are many other patients with the same goal as you. Combine that with an experienced and willing staff and you have the perfect recipe for success. For some people each day is a struggle, but it does not have to be. The right treatment makes a real difference. Check out your local drug rehab facility to find out what they can do for you.

Anyone struggling with a drug or alcohol addiction, or that knows of a loved one’s struggles, should be aware of all the treatment options available. Most people have heard of AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) and their 12 step recovery program. Did you know that there were non 12 step alcohol rehab and non 12 step drug rehab as well?

The 12 step model works for some, but many addicts are left still struggling with their addictions after completing the 12 steps. One reason may be that the acknowledgment of a higher power, one of the 12 steps, does not go over well with atheists. Once you start pretending on one step, why not pretend through the rest as well?

Non 12 step alcohol rehab and non 12 step drug rehab also do not consider all addictions a disease that the addict “caught”. Non 12 step programs stress personal responsibility and recovery, not lifelong counseling and constantly being a recovering addict.

Not everyone wants to be considered a recovering addict for the rest of their lives. Some people find that an addiction was brought on suddenly, perhaps by a major, life changing event. They need to know that they can be cured, and not live with the sigma of being an addict for the rest of their lives. For these people, a non 12 step program may be the answer.

Other choices for addicts include biophysical. This involves cleansing the body of build up toxins from drugs or alcohol. Once the toxins are removed from the body, biophysical program claim that the cravings for drugs or alcohol are reduced. When toxins are left in the body, residual traces may find their way into the bloodstream, causing intense cravings and relapses.

Whichever program an addict decides upon, it should be an informed choice. Non 12 step alcohol rehab and non 12 step drug rehab and biophysical drug rehab are simply less well-known treatment options that deserve consideration. When traditional methods continuously fail, perhaps the addict is not to blame. Another treatment program may work instead. All individuals are different, and their addictions require different types of treatments.

Drug Rehab education, referral, addiction treatment, drug rehabilitation, and professional intervention services. We can help find an effective non 12 step drug rehab.

That first step to seek treatment for drug or alcohol addiction is an important one. However, not all rehab centres are the same – they vary widely in terms of issues such as approach, cost, style and success rate. Therefore, it’s important to ensure that you choose the right place for you and your needs.

Choosing your rehabilitation centre is not a decision that should be rushed – it could well be a key factor in your recovery. You may want to discuss your decision with your loved ones or someone you trust, if it’s appropriate for you.

Do not be afraid to do your research and ask questions of rehab centres. The following questions and research points will give you a good starting point.

What is the rehab centre’s approach?

Does the centre follow a 12-step programme? What kind of programmes are available? Ask about any counselling and therapy that the centre offers and also the costs involved.

You could always ask the treatment centre how their approach compares to other centres – most reputable companies will be happy to discuss this with you to make sure you make the decision that’s right for you.

Is there a detox programme?

Ask the rehab centre about the detox programme that they offer. Detoxing from drugs or alcohol can result in symptoms such as nausea, sweating, anxiety and shakes, therefore it’s important that it’s done under medical supervision. Rehab clinics will often be able to offer medication to manage and ease the symptoms.

What about the staff?

For your rehabilitation to be successful, you will need to trust the staff at the centre. Do not be embarrassed to ask questions about staff qualifications, as well as experience with particular areas of drugs and alcohol. Ask what organisations they are accredited by and request statistics and case studies which demonstrate the centre’s success rate.

Will my family be involved?

Alcohol and drug addiction doesn’t just affect the addict; it can seriously affect their family as well, so a good rehab centre will usually offer counselling and support for the whole family, including workshops, seminars and group, as well as one-to-one, sessions.

However, family involvement is not right for everyone and if you don’t want your family involved in your recovery, your wishes should be respected.

After-care

Beating an addiction to drugs or alcohol is an ongoing process; it doesn’t end when you stop drinking for a period or when you leave the rehab centre. A good rehab clinic will offer aftercare service, to help you make the transition into a drug and alcohol-free life and to offer your support for the times when you will inevitably need it.

With painkiller addiction, the number one question we are asked at our rehab centers is, “I can get off painkillers, but how do I STAY off?”

Just getting off addiction to prescription pain meds can be gruesome. If the addict tries to simply stop using and, without help, just grit his teeth and tough it out, the withdrawal symptoms can tear him up. It tears up everyone around him too.

Recently, a very concerned father called about his 27 year old daughter. She has had two back surgeries for which multiple pain medications have been prescribed. You guessed it, she has become very dependent on them.

It is not clear at this point if the pain in her body is from the injuries, the surgeries, or from her addiction to the heavy opioids she is on.

Heavy use of pain medications can actually perpetuate the sensations of pain after long term use; a little known fact that the pharmaceutical industry does not talk about.

And these medications do not just mask the pain, they also change the way you function mentally. And if a person has emotional issues to begin with, the added effects of the drugs can lay the prefect foundation for a full blown addiction. Prescription drug addiction is so common these days that more of our calls are for prescription meds than anything else.

So what needs to be done for this girl?

Two things: Detox her and then Rehabilitate her.

You could sit and try to “talk sense” for hours on end and it would not change anything. We would not know what is going on until we find out how much of her pain is actually from the back injury and how much is from the addiction to prescription pain meds.

The word detox has somehow evolved onto a catch-all word that covers all aspects of recovery from drug addiction. In reality, it is only one part of the journey, albeit a necessary part. And detox is much more than just taking a holiday from the drugs for a week. By detox we mean actually cleansing the body of the residual drugs and toxins that had built up over the years of drug use.

Then, when she is really off drugs, it is time for true rehab. See what is needed in the way of physical correction while she learns what she was missing to begin with, help her to gain the strength to live without the drugs, to live in the light of full awareness and not in the dim, drugged world she has been struggling in for however long.

The skills that keep someone off drugs, month after month, year after year, are what must be learned, with the help of experts in the field of addiction recovery. That is real detox-rehab.

But getting help is not easy either. There are very few “free” rehab centers. And if you find one… get in line. The waiting list can be very long. It does not do you much good when you hear, “Okay, we will help you…in six months.”

There are scores of individuals out there who are of the view that marijuana rehab is not necessary. The reason they retain this opinion is because of the non-addictive feature of marijuana. Therefore, they feel it is a habit that anybody can refrain from without having to throw away lots of hard earned money and time going to a rehab center. To some magnitude, they are right but if the truth must be told, there are countless human beings around you who are addicted to this drug and whose lives and home have been negatively affected.

Marijuana is one of the several drugs that are to blame for many evils in our society. For example, countless addicts have lost their relationship or have killed individuals as a result of driving while they are high. What’s more, a lot of people have had to use many years or the rest of their lives in prison because of being obsessed with marijuana.

And, there are numerous folks out there who are not keen about marijuana. This group of individuals only make use of the drug for medication. They take advantage of the drug when anxious or when they want to take care of the vagaries of life that may happen whether we want it or not. In short, these human beings see this drug as means to an end and not an end in itself. But oftentimes, this group of human beings can’t just stop using marijuana. To put in another way, they become enthusiastic about it and if you are in this circumstance, you require assistance urgently and you can only find it in a marijuana rehab center.

A lot of people such as you have tried stopping marijuana addiction but have not succeeded. This is why it is vital to get support from any of the marijuana rehab centers out there. It is extremely critical for you or a dear one to get help if you are becoming smitten by it for medication or just taking it to get high.

In 1999, at the age of 30, I came to a Drug Alternative Program, completed the program and graduated in 2001. Upon graduation, I was employed by the co-founders of the program, Cliff and Freddie Harris. I was hired as House Manager and Lawn Supervisor.

After getting married in 2001, my wife and I purchased a home in Redlands, CA. I was promoted to Assistant Program Director at DAP (Drug Alternative Program). This was the happiest time in my life, not having a mind-altering chemical in my body. I had a beautiful Christian wife, lovely home, a car that I had never wrecked, and money in the bank. In 2003, our son was born bringing us the joyful experience of parenthood. I loved my job that I had held for three years. Most important, Jesus was the Center of my life. In the past, I didn’t know or even care about God at all.

After 4 1/2 years of sobriety, I relapsed on pain medication due to a back injury. I had relapsed in the past but this one was the worst yet. I went down fast and hard. I awakened a demon inside of me again as I stopped praying, studying the Bible and attending church. I was running on self-will.

Within a year, I had lost the job I loved, the woman and child I loved, and my home. My drug addiction took me to the streets of San Bernardino where I lived like an animal, killing myself fast this time because the guilt and shame was too much to bare. Jesus kept me alive on those streets for seven months.

One day I asked my ex-wife for a bus ticket to Tennessee where my family lived. I knew I would die if I didn’t break the cycle of my addiction. In Tennessee, I continued to drink alcohol, smoke marijuana and pop pills. I was arrested and spent four months in the county jail. While incarcerated, I had lots of time to think.

Ten whole years had passed.

I remembered the DAP “School of Christ”, the place where I met Jesus, developed a personal relationship with Him and became an asset to those around me. I wrote Mr. & Mrs. Harris from jail and asked if they would take me back into the program.

My friend, listen to the work of the Holy Spirit: Mrs. Harris intercedes daily for the graduates and clients calling us all by name. Six months prior to hearing from me, I was heavy on her heart. She began to pray profusely for me begging God to save my life and let me contact them.

While out of town, she was told that a letter from me arrived. Hearing my name made her shout aloud with “tears of joy”. She knew that letter was a direct answer to her prayers. Immediate plans were made for my return to the program. God worked several miracles within a few days. I was on supervised probation and was granted permission by the court to leave the state.

The answer came in one day. I had no money for a bus ticket to California. Mrs. Harris shared my story with Jim & Dorothy Valcarcel, major donors and close friends. They decided to invest in me by paying for my “airline” ticket and tuition. I met them on the day of my arrival at DAP’s 20th Anniversary Celebration. I was overwhelmed with God’s love through these two people. What a “warm” welcome I received from the rest of my DAP family and friends at that momentous occasion!

I’m now on Phase V (graduate candidate for 2010 Graduation Celebration) and have come full circle as House Manager and Lawn Supervisor. Today I’m happy and full of life and hope for the future. God is making it possible for me to reestablish a relationship with my son. I will also obtain my driver’s license soon.

God chose this home for the graduates. We believe that He will provide the funds through people like you or by some other means. This is your opportunity to make a sacrificial offering. The Browns have committed to giving DAP a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their property. Please pray that it will sell right away to help with the mortgage payment. Prayer changes everything!

Lonny Shattuck is a graduate of the Drug Alternative Program who relapsed and is now in Phase V of the very same program that once led him to spiritual renewal.

Drug taking habits are developed by your involvement in drugs and its associated lifestyle. If you take drugs for a long time, your lifestyle will be altered. Drug addicts can only stay away from drugs by acquiring greater talents and potentials to overcome their drug taking lifestyles. To regain a normal lifestyle, you will require not only giving up drugs but also access available assistance to help you recover faster.

Drug taking habits are not natural. You can only develop a drug addiction if you involve yourself in drugs. While both psychological and emotional harms are being caused by drugs on you, the drug trafficker is making a good living out of your addiction.

A Drug Addict Will Always Exhibit The Following Characters:

Tells lies to his families, pals and co-workers
Cannot be dependable
Always has unstable frame of mind or tempered
Cannot be trusted
Become reserved and isolated.

If you get involved with drugs, you will always feel guilty and the guilt will always lead you back to drugs. One of the reasons why drug addicts always feel guilty is due to low self- esteem. According to the oxford English dictionary, self-esteem means having confidence in your own personal value or potentials.

Even though you are wrong in what you do, you pretend to impress people. Always remember that you are doing yourself more harm than good. Taking drugs will always cause you to lie and steal from others. This is why you feel guilty and responsible for it.

Another effect of low self-esteem and guilt is Psychological Dejection.

Most drug addicts always seek an alternative way to protect their personal worth by putting on expensive brand name costumes and popularity. Unfortunately these efforts never work for them. The only way to increase your self worth is to improve on your God-given natural worth and touch the lives of your neighborhood positively. So, if you sincerely decide to stop doing drugs you have to do good always.

You also need to improve on your potentials to honestly face the demanding situations of life. It is very easy for you to develop different drug taking characters, but very difficult to break.

How To Overcome Your Drug Taking Characters.

One way of correcting your drug addiction is to find a reputable drug rehab center that provides full treatment for drug addicts. I say this because you must actually need to be rid of drug addiction before anyone can help you. If you do not want to be rehabilitated no one can get you to stop abusing drugs.

Another way out is to change your friends. For instance, it is not possible for you to stop abusing drugs if you continue in the company of your old friends who are not interested in dropping drug taking as a lifestyle. But it is a positive step of drug rehabilitation to remove you from the circle of friends who take drugs.

Finally friend, if you want to get rid of your drug taking habits, you must first identify why you are taking drugs and analyze it in terms of benefits and losses. Based on the outcome of your findings you should then locate a rehab center of repute to help rid of your drug addiction. And the rehab center should not be in your locality. This is so that you do not easily reconnect with your suppliers of drugs.
