Drug test confidentiality ensures that the employers, who report negative for the tests are not able to tamper the results of the tests. The companies too, take great care while conducting these tests as these tests can often lead to a person losing the job.

Significance of such tests

Many of the drugs usually result in accelerating the nervousness and heartbeat of the consumer. They result in euphoria and pleasant effects, but in the long run lead to sever behavioral changes. The companies ensure to maintain respect in the eyes of their customers. Any impertinent behavior of any of its employees can lead to trouble and confusion. Thus the companies these days require all their employees to undergo the drug test. The companies enjoy all the rights to reject the applicants if they report positive for any of the drug tests.

The confidentiality of the tests is thoroughly maintained

The companies are professional and maintain the confidentiality of the results. The results are not disclosed to any other employees. Even the labs performing the tests are enforced by law to strictly maintain the confidentiality of the drug tests.

Saliva test for drug testing

THC oral drug test is performed to check the presence of THC in the saliva. Again the positive results will not be beneficial for you. This test provides same results as obtained from the blood testing or urine testing. Labs are increasingly using the oral thc test as this does not require any special staff to take the samples from the people. It can also detect the use of the drugs in the previous hours to a few days.

How to pass a this test?

I suggest you must try a combination of different methods such as increasing your intake of water, taking foods that are rich in protein such a red meat, exercising regularly to burn the fat cells that store THC. It is always recommended that you must not eat anything 3 hours before the test. Also, avoid drinking plenty of water immediately before going for the test. Certain detox kits enable you to pass drug testing as they absorb all the toxins from the body.

You can certainly clear the test if you follow these methods.

A home drug test is a scientific piece of equipment that allows you to conduct an experiment at home that tells you whether the person from whom the sample is taken has been taking drugs or not. While home drug testing is becoming extremely popular among parents of teens, the drug testing kits are also being used in schools, offices and small businesses.

These home tests can be used to detect harmful drugs like THC (called marijuana, weed, pot or hash), opiates (heroin, morphine or codeine), cocaine (crack or snow), MDMA (ecstasy or X), Amphetamines (speed or uppers) and Benzodiazepines (Valium or Xanax).

A home drug test has various advantages over a test that is done in the laboratory. The top 5 advantages of testing drugs at home are listed below:

1.	Faster results – This test can be done within minutes. You do not have to collect the sample, deliver it to the laboratory and then wait patiently for the results to come in. With a drug test kit, you can take a sample and use a disposable drug test to know the answer to the question that has been plaguing you for some time.

2.	A deterrence for children – Teenage drug users may try to convince other teenagers that they should give drugs a try because their parents will never find out. Now teens and parents can counter this with an easy retort about the availability of a home drug test at home. This helps in providing children with a convenient way of getting out of a situation and parents an easy way to help their children.

3.	Affordable – A urine or a hair follicle drug test is relatively cheaper as compared to a laboratory test. The cost advantage of an at home drug test is evident especially when you look at employers who are using the tests. These employers find the tests easier to pay for and administer – and if the prospective employee fails, the burden falls to them to prove they are drug-free by taking a more expensive laboratory test.

4.	Private – A home drug test can also help you maintain your privacy. This is particularly important in smaller towns where you may not want the whole local area to know that you have had drug testing done for your child.

5.	Convenient – In addition to all that has been mentioned above home drug testing is extremely easy to use and convenient for all. The item can be carried on a vacation and can be used anywhere. A saliva test or disposable breath alcohol test can simply fit in your pocket and be used without any sort of trouble or invasion of physical privacy.

While drug testing at home has many positives, such kits should be used judiciously. False positives that can be caused by poppy seeds, mouthwashes and medicines can lead to false accusations and therefore knowing the right time of using a home drug test is critical. However, most home drug test kits are FDA Approved (check specific products to be sure) and with upwards of 95% accuracy are a great way to start a conversation about drug use.

Drug abuse is a major issue as many people irrespective of age and gender are getting addicted to illicit drugs. According to NSDUH 2007, 114 million Americans of 12 years and above, accounting 46% of the population reported drug abuse at least once in their entire life time. This fact alone states the severity of drug abuse in the United States. To check the drug abuse, instant drug testing kits are playing an important role. Of them, one step multi-drug screen test is unique, as it screens 12 most commonly abused drugs at a time with single device and a single sample.

The twelve drugs:
The one step multi-drug screen test provides quick and quality results of multiple drugs and drug metabolites in urine specimen. This test card tests for combination of Cocaine, Amphetamine, Methamphemine, Marijuana(THC), Methadone, Opiates, Phencyclidine, Barbiturate, Benzodiazepine, Propoxyphene, Tricyclics, and Oxycodone. This drug test is FDA approved.

How to take the test:
The one step multi-drug screen test is simple to administer, designed in the dip-and-read model to check most commonly abused drugs. Make sure that the test card and urine specimen reach the room temperature before testing. Remove the test card from the pouch and discard the moisture absorbent packet. Immerse the test strip in urine with arrows pointing towards the urine specimen, for 10-15 seconds. Do not cross the maximum (MAX) line while immersing the test strip in the urine sample. Put the test card on non-absorbent flat surface, start the timer and wait for red lines to appear. Take the results at five minutes and do not measure after ten minutes.

Interpretation of the test:
With a one step multi-drug screen test, results are available within 5 to 10 minutes, which are 95% to 98% accurate. For a positive result, a red line appears in control region and no line appears in test region. For a negative result, one red appears in control region and another red or pink line in the test region. For an invalid result, a line in control region fails to appear, which generally is caused due to insufficient specimen volume or incorrect procedural techniques. The cut-off levels in one step multi-drug screen test are set to the SAMHSA cut-off levels.

A considerable number of people are abusing illicit drugs causing a major threat to their health and safety. In order to detect and avoid drug abuse in your near ones, one step multi-drug screen test can be helpful to you either at your home or workplace with instant and accurate results.

DrugAlcoholTest.com is an online store offering Drug Test and drug screening products in several formats including blood, urine and oral drug testing kits. These drug-testing kits can be used discreetly for at home drug test or for random employee drug test. Some of the popular products are saliva drug test, breathalyzer and thc drug test products.

In the United States the work pattern and work culture is extremely different from other nations and states. The huge work force that makes possible this most powerful nation ride all the unforeseen difficulties are regularly tested, are checked by the enforcement of stringent laws and legal methods. The US Department of Transportation is one of the places where laws regulating the lives of its employees are considered to be of supreme importance.

Workers who generally fall under this Department has to qualify themselves seriously through some major NON DOT Drug Test and DOT Drug screen, to make themselves credible to the respective Department by assuring the authorities that they are fit to undertake the responsibilities of the lives of numerous common men. Therefore we can see that it is a specific drug test that is applied for employee drug screening.

The DOT Drug screen that generally takes place has a five panel test suggestions. Marijuana, Cocaine, Opiates, Amphetamines/Methamphetamines, Phencyclidine are the five drug components that are tested using this DOT Drug Screen. The Chain of Custody or COC that is used during this five panel DOT Drug Test must be of federal form. The body fluid of the employee is collected onsite or in some collection sites to get it tested and then the official reports are sent by the examining agencies to the respective companies by putting them highly confidential mails so that the reports remain absolutely safeguarded.

The workers who are highly positioned do not always require undergoing the DOT Drug Screen especially when the companies they work with have their own drug testing policies in place. This NON DOT Drug Test takes more than the five drug components mentioned above. It can be a 10 panel drug test depending upon requirements of the agencies and how in depth analysis they are looking for. Apart from Marijuana, Cocaine, Opiates, Amphetamines/Methamphetamines and Phencyclidine, the normal 10 panel Non dot drug test includes as Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Methadone, Methaqualone, Propxyphene.

Therefore we can see that this NON DOT Drug Screen test for some wide range of drug types that might affect the employee’s work abilities to a large extent. These drug tests in both the above mentioned forms are ways by which the respective organization keeps their workforce in check and can help them become most productive in a healthy way. Therefore, in order to add to the healthy environment of the office, trust only the best drug testing companies.

A recent survey suggests that 17 percent of the adult population are regular illegal drug users. It is the responsibility (duty of care) of all employers to provide a safe working environment. An employee or contractor on your worksite who is affected by drug use cannot assist in providing a safe workplace. They are a danger to themselves, their work colleagues and others. Statistics suggest employees who are regular drug users are ten times more likely to take sick leave and 33 percent less productive than abstainers.

Children, from toddlers to adolescents, are very much susceptible to bad habits. Some of the common bad habits in kids include, lashing out at others, disrespecting elders, biting nails, untidiness, sucking clothes, and drug abuse to be more severe. Breaking these habits is the toughest task ever, as children in their growth phase undergo many psychological changes, which makes them stubborn and reluctant to change. Therefore, before taking any measure to change these bad habits, one needs to understand the thinking pattern of kids. Let us study few of those patterns which make kids not stop bad habits.

Inborn rebelliousness
Irrespective of the surroundings in which they are brought up, the general behavior of one kid differs from the other. Some kids are very calm and composed and maintain a complaisant behavior. Whereas, in total contrast to them will be few children who are very rebellious. Many a times rebellious nature in kids may be attributed to the kind of exposure they have, but sometimes this character may be by birth. Kids inheriting this nature will not listen to any other person. They are totally adamant on their point and are certainly the difficult ones to deal with.

Think that everybody is doing it – it’s not bad
It is the general tendency of children in their early stages to imitate the repeated actions of their neighbors. As they are not developed mentally, they come to conclusion that whatever is done by majority is right. In the adolescent stages, children are very much influenced by their peers. They think it is right to go with the crowd and do what the crowd does. Children in those stages are characterized by lack of maturity and headstrong nature, disregarding advice given to them.

Inability to understand the complexity of risk involved
Their minds still being in developing stages, kids are not competent enough to understand the severity of the risk associated with bad habits. When you try to explain them about it, most of the kids either avoid the discussion or start arguing. For example, the most common problem faced these days among children is drug abuse. Kids easily tend to get addicted to these drugs, not being actually aware of how destructive this habit can turn into. Lack of enough knowledge to differentiate the good from bad takes a toll on their life.

Try to justify unhealthy habits
This is another major concern in the kids associated with bad habits. A kid on knowing the ill effects of his habits tries to justify the same, as he/she finds it highly impossible to get out of its clutches. This makes the task of breaking the habit a bit more difficult.

How to stop them
Breaking of a bad habit of any individual of any age group is a difficult task, as generally they are the sources of comfort. It is always best to find out the root of the problem first and then start correcting right from there. In order to detect the bad habits like drug abuse, one can use drug testing kits available in the market.

The whole process of stopping the habits should be handled with great care and maturity. Children should be educated rightly about the misleading habits. Right understanding of the reasons for that particular behavior and communicating the same to the child will help in correcting his behavior. In addition, few steps which will help a kid stop his bad habits are discussed below:

•Start in steps: It is very difficult for a child to let go off a habit on a single stretch. This may in turn pressurize the child and make him/her depressed. Therefore, adapting a ’single step at once’ approach will have slow yet rewarding benefits. In the case of drug abusing kids, step wise approach is the best suited one.

•Do not overreact: Overreacting to the smallest of bad habits, will make the child avoid you. This approach should not be adapted in dangerous bad habits like drug abuse too. This makes the kid guilty, irritated and he/she moves away from you. Instead a gentle and caring approach will work wonders.

•Recognition of good behavior: A positive attitude should be inculcated while dealing with kids. Their mind will be very subtle and soft and any kind of appreciation will give them enormous motivation. Hence, regularly recognize the good behavior and give positive reinforcement while trying to change the existing habit. It will enhance the chances to forsake the bad habit permanently.

It is a known fact that whatever falls on a kid’s mind makes an impression. Taking their age and immaturity into consideration, one should be careful while exposing a kid to different environments. Shaping up the right mindset in the kids right from early stages will result in inculcation of positive habits.

Drug abuse is widespread and is one of the top health concerns in many countries. Drug abuse causes multiple problems for the abuser, his/her family and the immediate society. Physical and mental effects are quite obvious in the drug abuser. Drug abusers cannot function as normal citizens of the society. They neglect their families, become poor socially and economically and may also involve in crimes. It is very important to detect the drug abusers using drug tests to make them stay away from harmful drugs. Here we will look at some of the common drugs of abuse, their detection periods and cut-off concentrations in different drug testing samples.

Common Drugs of Abuse
National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) recently stated that about 22 million Americans were abusing illicit drugs in 2009. Some of the commonly used illicit and prescribed drugs are Marijuana, Methamphetamine, Phencyclidine (PCP), Cocaine and Opiates.

Marijuana
Marijuana is the most commonly abused drug in America with almost 16.7 million users. Marijuana is a psychoactive drug. Desired effects of marijuana include relaxation, euphoria, and hallucinations. However, Marijuana addiction leads to problems such as short-term memory impairment, red conjunctiva, and increased heart rate and blood pressure.

Methamphetamine
There were more than 500,000 methamphetamine users in America in 2009. Methamphetamine is also a stimulant that causes euphoria, mood elevation, and appetite suppression. High doses of the drug lead to restlessness, anxiety, irritability, tremors, and paranoia. It may also result in fixed and dilated pupils, and heart and brain dysfunction.

Phencyclidine (PCP):
Around 45,000 people initiated Phencyclidine in 2009. PCP, a “dissociative” drug, stimulates central nervous system. Short-term effects of PCP addiction are drowsiness, lethargy, and disorganized thoughts. PCP drug abuse causes visual, tactile, and auditory misperceptions; slurred speech; and sweating. Severe psychological effects are seen among PCP drug abusers.

Cocaine:
There were 1.6 million Cocaine users in United States in 2009. Cocaine is a powerful nervous system stimulant. Cocaine enhances euphoria, alertness, energy and motor activity. High dosage cocaine abuse leads to convulsions, tremors and increased body temperature. Drug tests for cocaine detection check for presence of Benzoylecgonine which is the main metabolite of the drug.

Opiates:
Opiates including morphine, codeine, and heroin are derivatives of Opium. High dosage of Opium consumption causes depression of central nervous system leading to dizziness, lethargy, and drowsiness. Liver diseases, respiratory depression, and spontaneous abortion are caused by long-term use of Opiates. Morphine and Morphine Glucuronides are the metabolites of opiates that are detected in drug tests.

Drug detection
Urine, saliva, and hair are the common samples taken to perform a drug test in order to detect the elevate levels of the above mentioned drugs. Detection period and cut-off concentrations of various drugs vary based on the type of test. The drug cut off concentration level is defined as the minimum level of drug or metabolite concentration in the specimen, which can be considered as a positive result. Amount of drugs that can be detected is based on several factors such as drug detection time, frequency of use, metabolism, specimen type, methods of drug testing, and others.

Urine Tests
Most of the illicit drug abusers are commonly tested by using urine tests. Many urine drug test kits are available in the market for on-site tests or laboratory analysis. Urine drug tests are least expensive when compared to all other types.

The cut off level for Marijuana in urine is 50 ng/ml and can be detected between 2 to 4 days of consumption. Habitual Marijuana use can be detected up to 30 days in urine. Cut off level for Methamphetamine is 1000 ng/ml and can be detected between 3 to 5 days. PCP 25 ng/ml and detection period is 3 to 7 days. Cocaine 150 ng/ml and can be detected between 4 to 5 days. The cut-off level for opiates earlier was 300ng/ml. However, in order to reduce possibility of false positives, it is increased to 2000ng/ml. Opiates such as Heroin, Codeine or Morphine can be detected for 2-4 days.

Hair Drug Tests:
Hair drug tests are accurate and can detect any type of drugs for 90 days. A hair sample of 1.5 inches of length is enough to conduct hair drug tests.

The cut off concentrations of common drugs of abuse using hair drug tests are: Cocaine (Benzoylecgonine) – 0.5 ng/mg, Amphetamines (Amphetamine) – 0.5 ng/mg, Marijuana – 0.005 ng/mg, Opiates (Morphine) – 0.2 ng/mg, Phencyclidine (Phencyclidine) – 0.3 ng/mg.

Saliva Drug Tests:
More recent drug use can be detected by saliva drug tests. These are more expensive than urine tests and less expensive than hair tests. They are easy to use and the chances of adulteration are very less. Detection period of saliva tests is not known for some drugs. However, methamphetamine and PCP can be detected for 1-3 days.

The cutoff concentrations for the above mentioned drugs using saliva tests are Cocaine – 20 ng/ml, Amphetamines (d-Amphetamine) – 50 ng/ml, Marijuana (THC-COOH) – 12 ng/ml, Opiates (Morphine) – 40 ng/ml, Phencyclidine (Phencyclidine) – 10 ng/ml.

Whatever the test may be, the cut-off concentration is a crucial parameter to detect the presence of drugs in order to provide accurate results.

It may be a staggering fact that more than one million people in the United States are HIV carriers. Worldwide, this figure escalates to an astronomical margin. As per as the estimation of U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 50,000 individuals will be infected with HIV virus every year. Given such a disturbing scenario, it is imperative to make the HIV testing mandatory.

Know about HIV:
HIV is the truncated form of human immunodeficiency virus which is the responsible agent for causing AIDS or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. HIV destroys our immunity system by replicating in some selected cells. Throughout the process of replication, it makes a good use of DNA or RNA as a genetic messenger. Due to the decaying immunity power, the affected persons are unable to put up a strong fight against many infectious diseases. The CS4 lymphocytes are the primary target of the virus. When the count of CS4 drops below 200 per cubic millimeter, the person is diagnosed with having AIDS. HIV testing is very much important in order to identify the ailing persons. Early detection helps the authority take the preventive measures to curb out the possibility of infection.

How the Virus Infects the Others:
Contrary to the popular belief that HIV spreads only through unprotected sex, the virus can contaminate the others through blood or other fluids too. Kissing or touching does not lead to virus infection. So, averting the HIV affected persons is nothing but an inhumane behavior. It is everyone’s responsibility to spread awareness about AIDS and take precautions so that it does not infect the others. HIV testing is of utmost importance in this regard as early detection always helps take essential steps to ensure a healthy life for the affected and also prevent the others from getting infected.

HIV Testing Serves Multiple Purposes:
Truly speaking, the HIV test result serves many a purpose simultaneously. HIV testing is the only way to detect this Virus-carried disease. The test helps us indentify the newly infected personnel and also diagnose the previously undetected infections. It is a need to counsel those who have been certified as the HIV carriers. In many cases, the positive result of the test causes nervous breakdown for the infected individuals. They fear of going to die within months or years. The doctors must give assurance that these patients still have a long journey to embark on provided they follow a healthy life style. The negative outcome brings some fresh relief to those who are lucky to escape the clutch of the harmful virus. HIV testing is a must in times of blood transmission and tissue transplantation to cut down the risk of contamination. Like HIV test, drug testing is also vital to be sure of whether a person is a drug addict or not.

Recommendations:
CDC has recommended routine HIV testing for the adults as well adolescents. The authority has also emphasized on conducting the test for the pregnant ladies. Persons possessing high risk of getting infected must go for HIV test at least once in a year. It is a great concern that not enough persons are undergoing HIV testing and thereby increasing the risk of HIV infection. Several measures have been embraced to spread awareness among the ordinary persons but the anticipated outcome is still to experience.

Marijuana is considered as one of the most commonly used illicit drug by teens. According to a report released by US government in May 2008, around 35% of the 2 million depressed teens used an illicit drug (including marijuana) in 2007. Another 18% of teens who were not suffering with any depression also have used an illicit drug, adding up to the number of drug abused teens. Marijuana abuse has a tremendous impact on a teen’s life.

Why teens are abused to marijuana
The primary reason for marijuana abuse in teens is peer pressure or strong influence by the abused friends or family members. Many teens use marijuana for coping with psychological emotions like anxiety, anger, depression, boredom, etc. Teens who smoke marijuana to deal with psychological emotions have more chances to get addicted to the drug.

Impact of marijuana on general activities
Marijuana has a tremendous impact on educational and extra-curricular activities of a teen. Its short-term affects include deficiency of memory and learning abilities, distorted perceptions, and declined problem-solving skills, low coordination, increased depression, anxiety, and suicidal tendencies. Long-term marijuana abuse can result in schizophrenia or other forms of psychosis.

Marijuana abuse affects on Health
Marijuana smoking has almost the same potential of causing cancer as tobacco smoking. Smoking of marijuana increases heart rate and blood pressure. The abused are likely to suffer from coughing and wheezing. The higher the abuse the greater are the chances of marijuana-smokers to suffer from lung infections and diseases like pneumonia. THC in marijuana can damage immunity system in a human being.

Usage of marijuana
Marijuana is sold under various street names like pot, herb, weed, grass, boom, ganja, Mary Jane, hashish, hash, etc. Marijuana is usually consumed by igniting it and inhaling the smoke through different apparatus like cigarettes, bowls, chillums, etc. Marijuana is also consumed orally after heating the raw cannabis and producing psychoactive THC from it.

Marijuana inside a human system
Marijuana abuse can be detected for around 7 to 30 days using a standard urine drug testing. Traces of marijuana can be detected even after several days of consumption through a urine test. However, in the case of a heavy chronic user it can be detected even for several weeks after they have stopped consuming it. Marijuana can be detected for up to 90 days in hair and 2 weeks in blood.

Under an effective guidance, parents can stop their children being abused to marijuana. Parents are suggested not to ignore abrupt behavioral changes in their teen children. Parents should conduct drug screening at home frequently to monitor their children and keep them away from marijuana abuse.

Whether it is cigarette smoking, alcohol, drugs like marijuana or hard drugs like cocaine and heroin, parents finding out their teen has been involved in teen drug abuse can feel quite disoriented. This is especially true for some parents who have otherwise remained in a drug free environment to date, since they may find themselves at a loss to understand what their teen might be going through.

Teen Drug Abuse Prevention

Prevention is of course the best option. It might help to speak to your child about how teen drug abuse has become extremely prevalent and the various negative effects of this phenomenon. A talk like this will require you to understand the various kinds of drugs and the negative effects of each of the categories. If your teen feels that you really know what you are talking about, they will listen. Such detailed information will also keep your teen away from teen drug use by giving them the ammunition they need to deflect the curiosity of friends and peers about drugs.

Another aspect that you might want to mention to your teen is that you have a home drug testing kit at home and that you will not shirk from using it if you feel that there is some kind of a teen drug use happening. Make sure that this is something that you let your teen know gently. You don’t want to sound threatening to your teen and you do want your teen to feel that you are supportive at an overall level.

Teen Drug Abuse – Help your Teen

Irrespective of how strict you may have been earlier about preventing teen drug abuse, make sure that you do not bring the house down when you find out your teen and drugs. While there are rehabilitation centers that can help you if you find your teen has been taking drugs, you can deal with the problem at home as well.

Make sure that you attend some teen drug abuse parent forums to understand what your teen may be going through and how you can help by assuring your teen that you will always be there by his or her side.

It is also foolhardy to believe that your teen cannot lapse into the teen drug use issue once he or she has been “cured.” You know that it is very possible to slip into the habit again. This could be a good time to have a home drug test around to ensure your teen does not slip back into old habits and is sticking to their “staying clean” regimen.

Do not fall for emotional appeals such as ‘Don’t you trust me’. In such matters when your teen has slipped once, he/she can slip again. So be firm and yet supportive about the whole situation.

Teen drug use is a challenge every parent thinks about and many face. There are many ways to get through it to the benefit of the whole family. Do not be shy about learning more or finding resources. Open dialogue is one of the most important steps in dealing with drug use in the home. The Partnership for a Drug-Free America is a particularly great non-profit resource.
