This world is full of drugs and in some areas the drug problems are spiraling out of control. Fortunately for us in the West have access to proper treatment facilities for drug detox which are quite good. We are blessed compared to other less fortunate countries who have nothing. The process of Drug detox is going to be difficult regardless of where you live on this planet. Drugs detox involves stopping taking the drugs, and dealing with the withdrawal effects. In some cases these withdrawal effects can be very bad. The effects of withdrawal can be felt sometimes after a week. Once the drug detox process has run its course, the drug rehab then follows. In a lot of cases this will carry on throughout the patient’s life.

As I said in the West we are lucky enough to have the facilities for Detox from drugs. As is with our drug detox therapists. Are drug detoxification therapists are not created equal, unfortunately. So the question has to be asked what does make a good drug detox therapist? Both drug detox and drugs rehabilitation require that the therapist have had calm understanding at all times. They need to understand all of the needs and limitations of their patients. The patient also needs to feel that he is having a lot of support. They must also be able to focus the patient on long-term definite goals. The patient will be able to get through not only the good times but the bad times also if they are given enough help at this stage.

If you are looking for drug rehab with no insurance information then you have come to the right place. Firstly, what impact does insurance have on your drug rehabilitation. Residential drug rehab professionals are very aware of the pitfalls of enabling. Probably anybody who knows someone battling with chemical dependency has heard these words: “You’re not helping. You’re just enabling.” If you were helping the situation would improve. You would be “helping” your loved one overcome the chemical dependency, perhaps by putting him or her into a rehabilitation center. Enabling, however, is when what you do makes your loved one’s life worse because you have actually somehow contributed to his or her drug addiction. Many people unintentionally enable the very person they are trying to help. Here is a checklist so you can be sure to help and not enable:

* Do not give your loved one money

To an addict, money equals drugs. This is the cold truth. No matter what the story he may be telling you, do not give him that $60 to pay his phone bill, or that $130 to fix his car. Without a doubt, that money will be spent on drugs. It may be difficult to stick to this plan because you will want to think that they are being truthful. Drug addicts have regrettably become highly skilled at manipulation and will do whatever it takes to get high. If the thought crosses your mind to give him or her money, ask yourself this: Would you buy the drugs for him or her? If you give them money, you are. Each time the question for money arises, you should tell your loved one that you will put that money away towards paying for drug rehabilitation. Continue reading ‘Avoid the Pitfalls of Enabling’ »

What many of them fail to realize is that drug addiction and alcoholism are diseases not weaknesses or character flaws. In fact, the AMA (or American Medical Association) recognizes alcoholism and drug addiction as long-term, crippling diseases, which can be fatal. It is also noted that the substance abuse is evidence of other problems which may center on abuse, other traumatic experiences, and chemical or emotional disturbances.

For those Christians who doubt themselves, Christian drug rehab centers may be their best options for recovery. These treatment facilities remind Christian addicts that God has no favorites. He willingly embraces all who honestly seek to live a righteous life. No matter what your past indiscretions, you can be forgiven and your sins washed away. Anyone can get off drugs. You could leave someone in a room for a week and make sure they didn’t leave, and they would be off drugs. The hard thing is keeping them off the drugs. That hurdle is what is crippling our society, it is what is encouraging the war on drugs and it is what is preventing families from having their son, daughter, mom or dad back. A key part to ensuring that someone is able to stay off drugs is to make sure that they are able to integrate back into society.

One of the byproducts of addiction is the fact that an addict completely isolates themselves from the rest of society. There are reasons behind this. Drugs and alcohol will cause a person to lie, steal, cheat and manipulate – all of these actions result in harming society in one way or another. At one point a person makes the decision to go against the morals and values of society. When they do this they are separating themselves from the rest of the world. After a person completes a drug and alcohol rehab, they are thrown back into society. They are thrown back into the group that they harmed and resisted for so long. This provides for a bumpy transition at best. Continue reading ‘Addiction Leads to Isolation From Society’ »
