A rehab center is a hope for millions of people affected by addiction to alcohol and drugs. It is important to understand that addiction of any kind faced by many people today is also a disorder which can be treated at a rehab center. There is an addiction treatment which helps individuals recover from their addiction and lead a normal life. Yet, there are many who do not undergo a drug rehab and loose the precious time of their life suffering from this disorder for a very long time. This condition not only affects the individuals but also has an adverse impact on their families, relatives, and friends. So, choosing the right rehab center for the effected person is essential at the right time.
The recovery time in drug rehabilitation varies from one person to another. Many also require more than one kind of treatment in order to recover completely from their addiction. The success of the treatment at a rehab center also depends on the cooperation of the individual and the support of their families. It should also be kept in mind that drug addiction is a chronic disorder which can also relapse due to which taking treatment just once may not be sufficient. So, it usually involves treatment for a longer duration as well as few intermittent treatments according to their effect and response of an individual. Do I really need to go inpatient?
The need to seek drug and alcohol treatment on an inpatient or outpatient basis depends on the nature of the addiction. If detoxification is needed, inpatient treatment is most definitely needed in order to get through all the stages of withdrawal and recovery. Otherwise, the decision may have to be made by a professional. One of the problems with addiction is denial – few people will willingly acknowledge the severity of the problem, instead taking the position that it is a manageable situation. An outside, impartial observer is better equipped to make the assessment.
If that is not feasible, there are many “tests” and “quizzes” available to help you at least identify that a problem exists. If you take one, and agree with what the results indicate, seek help. Once you contact a treatment facility, the staff will be honest with you as to whether inpatient or outpatient treatment is best. This is true that you take the first peg of alcohol or the first dose of narcotics without knowing its tentacles and you become addicted even without your consciousness. Have you ever imagined that your child can be found guilty of a drug related offense or an associated law-breaking crime? Perhaps the best penalty according to the law would be for the court to sentence him to jail, but the law also permits the judge to commit such sentence to community service and or the attendance of a rehab treatment program.
Taking drugs and other banned substances harm you physically. If a patient continues to secretly take drugs while undergoing a drug rehabilitation, the applied rehab therapy would surely be unsuccessful. This is why inpatient drug rehab program, which keeps close eyes on the patient, is considered better than out patient rehab facility.
The drug rehabilitation program given to a teenager is targeted towards detoxifying his body so that he will stop craving for the substance of abuse while also educating him on the dangers of drug taking. If you are looking for drug rehab with no insurance information then you have come to the right place. Firstly, what impact does insurance have on your drug rehabilitation. Most people who go in for drug rehab go down the private route as in a business that has profits to take care of. There is also the state funded route but usually that is deemed poor quality compared and this is a drug addiction we are talking about here so it makes sense to try and get the best.
The private drug rehab companies want you to have insurance usually because this shows that you are going to have enough money to pay back but there are also free options. These include
General Non-Profit Rehabs
This is companies like the salvation army who have no financial gain so are bot bothered whether or not you have any health insurance. They offer good therapy in friendly surroundings. Whilst they are free and there is a lot of competition for places, they always do their best not to turn away those in need.

Getting someone to face the concept of inpatient drug rehabilitation to handle an addiction problem is hard enough; much less consider a long term rehab program. The stigma surrounding addiction treatment and the dogmatic methods used bring about the belief there is no real reason to consider anything but a short term treatment option. The fact is, the only reason a short term 30 day drug rehab program exists is that’s all the insurance companies want to pay for.
Most insurance policies do not cover inpatient drug rehab programs longer than 21 or 30 days, and they most certainly do not cover any kind of sober living or continued aftercare for the most part. When it comes to long term drug rehabs that can actually progressively work towards a continued improvement in the addicts outlook and disposition, there are only a few options. Residential drug rehab professionals are very aware of the pitfalls of enabling. Probably anybody who knows someone battling with chemical dependency has heard these words: “You’re not helping. You’re just enabling.” If you were helping the situation would improve. You would be “helping” your loved one overcome the chemical dependency, perhaps by putting him or her into a rehabilitation center. Enabling, however, is when what you do makes your loved one’s life worse because you have actually somehow contributed to his or her drug addiction. Many people unintentionally enable the very person they are trying to help. Here is a checklist so you can be sure to help and not enable:
* Do not give your loved one money
To an addict, money equals drugs. This is the cold truth. No matter what the story he may be telling you, do not give him that $60 to pay his phone bill, or that $130 to fix his car. Without a doubt, that money will be spent on drugs. It may be difficult to stick to this plan because you will want to think that they are being truthful. Drug addicts have regrettably become highly skilled at manipulation and will do whatever it takes to get high. If the thought crosses your mind to give him or her money, ask yourself this: Would you buy the drugs for him or her? If you give them money, you are. Each time the question for money arises, you should tell your loved one that you will put that money away towards paying for drug rehabilitation. Continue reading ‘Avoid the Pitfalls of Enabling’ »
