Why is hydrocodone addiction so common?

The most commonly felt effects of physical withdrawal from tobacco smoking are feelings of anger, depression, anxiety and restlessness. A chain smoker’s body experiences sharply rising and falling levels of nicotine on a daily basis. In the withdrawal stage, these cycles are coming to an end. Over years, the nicotine literally takes control of about 200 neurochemicals in the brain. The brain is slowly regaining control of these. This causes the intense emotional effects mentioned above.

Within the first 72 hours of withdrawal, if a user abstains totally from nicotine, they will begin to feel the gradual effects of recovery. The brain is now getting used to being lavished with nicotine-free oxygen.

During the early stages of withdrawal, time seems to drag endlessly. The first few weeks are interminable. It is most important to stay motivated during the process of recovery. It helps to make a list of benefits, or advantages of quitting the addictive behavior. These should be benefits that are very valuable to you � valuable enough to turn your back on the addiction. Setbacks will occur and should be viewed as opportunities to learn.

Coping with the intense urges and cravings is perhaps the greatest challenge for most individuals. In the case of substance abuse in particular, the drug radically alters the brain by literally taking control of certain neuro chemicals. It is important to understand the temporary nature of the urges. During withdrawal, the time that the urge lasts seems endless and unbearable. It helps to actually clock the duration of an urge and see for oneself that it does end. Recovering addicts have reported that urges initially reach a climax in frequency, intensity and duration, but gradually lose their strength and fizzle out.

Some specific techniques for coping with urges are as follows:
� Attempt to stand apart from it for a moment and witness it as an outsider, with detachment.
� Recall your list of ‘benefits of quitting’
� Go back to the task you were performing
� Consider the negative fallouts of succumbing to the urge
� Completely focus your energies on any other thought or activity
� Deprive the urge of your attention. You will find that it tends to disappear gradually.

It has been seen that drug overdoses have increased the rate of deaths either accidentally or intentionally. Poisoning is another category which has been a great cause for accidental overdoses by prescription drugs, solid or liquid drugs, illicit drugs etc. The greatest targets of this are mainly the people of age 20 to 64 mostly due to abusing medical prescriptions as oxycodone, hydrocodone, fenatanyl, methadone etc. And there is a great need to solve the problem and saving lives.

Drug overdoses occurs when people take drugs in greater doses than recommended. The higher the dose and longer its exposure in the body results in serious poisoning. Different individuals react differently to drug overdoses. And the treatment also differs from person to person based on individual needs. No two individuals react similarly and need to be dealt by professional help in such cases. It can happen to anybody of any age. Crawling children may be exposed to this danger of they happen to reach any of the drugs accidentally and consume it as they have a tendency to take every thing to mouth. I know for sure that prescription drug abuse is on the rise around the world especially so in the United States.

One of these drugs happens to be hydrocodone and the leaders which contain this drug names are Vicodin, Lorcet, Lortab, and Norco. Addiction to these drugs is beginning to be seen as much as alcoholism.

This is frightening to say the least. Beating any type of drug addiction is hard but beating an opiate addiction is I think even harder.

First thing you will have to do is tell dispose of all your drugs and cut your ties to all your connections this means deleting their phone numbers from your cell phone.

Hydrocodone addiction usually starts when people have their guard down and are unsuspecting. Most often it occurs after and accident or injury. Then a doctor will usually prescribe hydrocodone for the pain. This is one way in which many people have become addicted to this drug. Now the question remains what can we do about this problem. There have been many modern advances in the world of health care, and research has unlocked many mysteries when it comes to medicine. One of the areas that has seen some advances is the treatment of substance abuse, where professionals are learning how best to treat individuals addicted to drugs or alcohol. But still today, the number of lives affected by drug abuse and alcoholism is increasing, and many people have turned to prescription opiate such as hydrocodone or oxycodone, and it really hasn’t gotten much easier to help those people get sober. It is still a long, hard process that often lasts a lifetime.

Drug detox, and particularly opiate detox, can be a very scary and difficult thing. The reality is that no matter what method they choose, drug addicts still have to go through it if they are going to be sober. A few modern techniques have been designed to make the process easier, however.
