Will a 21 day of outpatient detox program help heroin addicts recover
In San Francisco there are many who suffer from heroin addiction. Heroin is processed from morphine which is extracted from the seed pods of the poppy plant. It is usually injected, snorted/sniffed or smoked. Abusers of the drug take great risks every time they use since they never know how potent the drug is or what it may be cut with. Injection of the drug gives the user a rapid onset of euphoria that lasts about 7-8 seconds and tends to be the most predominant method of heroin use among those who are seeking treatment. Heroin addiction is killing people everyday and Narconon’s premier facility Narconon Arrowhead located in Oklahoma wants to help save those lives and we have been since 2001 when we opened are doors.
There are thousands of treatment types offered through out the U.S to help those who are addicted. Finding the right treatment for you or your loved one can be a challenge especially if your not sure what to look for. People always want the easiest quickest fix for just about everything these days but, when we are talking about addiction it’s not an over night quick fix. (more…)
It is a proven fact that once a child/teenager begins smoking marijuana the odds that they will progress to harder, illicit drugs increases four times that of a person who does not smoke marijuana. The easy availability and high addictive qualities of these drugs not only ruin the lives of those who are addicted, but also those who love and care for them. Narconon Arrowhead has an effective inpatient drug and alcohol rehab with a 70% success rate along with drug education to over 65,000 youth about the realities and consequences of drugs and alcohol.
According to the 2004 – 2005 NSDUH data, approximately 175,000 Georgia citizens reported needing but not receiving treatment for illicit drug use while in October 2007 21% of the active inmate population of the Georgia Dept. of Corrections reported a drug abuse problem and an additional 15% reported a drug and alcohol abuse problem. Approximately 37% of all probationers had a drug offense as their primary offense. Obviously people do not learn how to live a responsible, productive drug free life while in jail. These are not rehabilitation facilities, they are measures to keep those addicted to drugs out of the communities for a specific period of time in hopes that they “will straighten up and see the lightâ€. For a person already caught in the cycle of addiction, inpatient rehab is the answer for that person to regain a drug-free, productive, responsible, ethical and happy life.

As the Dallas area sees a rise in drug addiction, the need for drug rehab in the area becomes a hot topic.
Narconon is allied with the many Dallas Texas residents who are in desperate need of drug rehab today. Studies show that an estimated 1.4 million individuals in Dallas Texas abused alcohol or had an alcohol dependency problem in 2005. That same year, over half a million individuals had a drug abuse or dependency problem to illicit drugs. Narconon Arrowhead sees that the Dallas Texas area has a serious drug problem and we are willing to help.
Some different types of drug rehab treatment out there are inpatient drug rehab, outpatient drug rehab, detoxification, short term rehab, long term rehab and several kinds of meetings. Some of these model treatment options will substitute one drug for another and some will leave you totally drug free once you walk out the doors. Any effective treatment method will have some sort of follow up program for an individual to make sure they are achieving success.

There are almost as many treatments for drug addiction as causes for it. One of the so called “alternative therapies” is Narconon.
This treatment looks at handling the causes of the addiction, as well as the addicition itself. It is controversial inasmuch as it is based upon the writings and beliefs of Ron L. Hubbard. One time science fiction author and founder of the “religion” of scientology.
The basic premise is to try and look at an individual’s own position as a start to treating the actual addicition. This program does not make use of any drugs to combat withdrawal symptoms. Rather using education and rehabilitation. The program is widely used in schools as preventative education, along with the schools own program, if they have one.
