This notorious white powder that cocaine is, has its origins in leaves derived from the South American coca plant. Leaves that were being freely used by the Mayans for their stimulating qualities became known to Europe following Spain’s conquest of that continent.

Described as a stimulant, cocaine can be ingested in many ways, be it smoking, injection into the veins, or what is called snorting via the nose. No matter how it is consumed, its effects of this highly addictive drug are the same. However, it is known that no fewer than 90 percent of the people who use it do so occasionally; it is only the remaining 10 percent that are known to be addicts, or those who use it at a frequency that is equal to or exceeds once a week.

Effects of cocaine addiction: In the short run, the effects a cocaine addict feels on the body are unreasonable irritability, excitability to the extreme, uncontrollable restlessness and difficulty in sleeping. In the next state, the cocaine addict experiences fretfulness, anxiety even when there is no reason for it and importantly, delusions in the sensory perceptions and a feeling that insects crawl on the surface of the skin.

The physical manifestations of these effects a cocaine addict experiences are increased heart rate and blood pressure, fast breathing and enlarged reactive pupils.

Symptoms of cocaine withdrawal: When a cocaine addict attempts withdrawal from the use of the drug, the immediate signs that are seen are paranoia, confusion, impulsiveness, hallucinations, hyperactivity and agitation. The physical symptoms of cocaine withdrawal may include nausea, abdominal cramps, fever, diarrhea, exhaustion and chills. Insomnia, ennui, disorientation, depression, muscle pains and irresistible craving for cocaine are the other effects a cocaine addict feels once he tries to attempt cocaine detoxification.

Cocaine addiction treatment programs: The ultimate goal of cocaine addiction treatment programs is abstinence, or weaning the cocaine addict from the drug. It is interesting to note that cocaine rehabs administer cocaine addiction treatment programs only when the drug use starts interfering in day-to-day activities, such as broken marriage, harm to children, absenteeism from work, reduced efficiency at work or job loss.

The first step at cocaine rehab is to cleanse the body of the toxins overuse of the drug has brought into the system. This may take anywhere between four and ten months after intervention by a cocaine detox center. The actual treatment commences once the body mechanism and chemicals come back to normal.

This is followed by cocaine addiction treatment programs that lessen the craving. Drugs such as dopamine show good effect in helping the cocaine addict have a reduced feeling of longing. Acupuncture is also a proven method in this step.

Finally, cocaine rehab centers include counseling, family therapy, psychotherapy, education about drug abuse and addiction, acupuncture, and relaxation training as part of the treatment. These may or may not require hospitalization, and is individual-specific.

Some programs like Employee Assistance Programs and Cocaine Anonymous are also undertaken. Under the former, employers take measures that bring back the cocaine-addicted employee back to the mainstream, once the management has taken note of cocaine addictions in the workplace. Rehab centers such as Cocaine Anonymous offer cocaine addiction treatment, but are majorly inclined towards counseling.

The author of this article knows all about Effects of cocaine addiction. He has written many articles on cocaine rehabs. He has wide knowledge about the cocaine rehabs. He uses his knowledge for helping people to find the best cocaine detox center.

If you pull aside any person in their 50s, and ask them about the 1960s and 1970s, they will often remark about how different things were. Upon further questioning, you’ll often find that many people who grew up in the 1970s as teenagers and people in their 20s will seldom hide the fact that they used to smoke Marijuana. Back then, especially during the hippie days of the 60s, drugs were a huge deal in the fact that they really weren’t. What do I mean by this? You could smoke cigarettes pretty much anywhere you wanted. There were no non-smoking sections in restaurants. In fact, at one point, smoking was seen as good for your health! Regarding Marijuana use, it almost seemed unusual to find someone in the 1970s who hadn’t yet smoked or tried Marijuana. Oh, how times have changed.

Not that long ago, when I was a police officer, I remember charging a young couple for smoking Marijuana in a hotel room. I was with several other police officers and we had been spending the majority of the night looking for a robber suspect when we received a tip that he might be staying in a specific hotel room at a specific hotel room. When I went up to the door and knocked, I immediately smelled what I identified as Marijuana. Sure enough, when the door to the room opened up, it opened up with a cloud of smoke that was rich with the smell of Marijuana. Inside, I was surprised to find a young couple who looked no older than 16 and 17 years old. They had unsuccessfully tried to hide the evidence but had very obviously failed to do so. According to the law, as police officers, if we smelled Marijuana, that was probable cause to search the premises. Additionally, within plain sight, I immediately saw a bong and Marijuana in baggies.

The couple, at this point seemed extremely out of sorts, a sure effect of the drug. Their thinking and motor skills were very obviously impaired. We wound up citing them with a misdemeanor possession of Marijuana and gave them a mandatory court date in which to appear. I couldn’t help but think of why someone so young would want to use drugs like that. Then again, why would anyone at any age feel the need to use drugs? Given how impaired they were, I also couldn’t help but think of how incredibly dangerous it would have been if either one of them were behind the wheel of a car, driving down a busy roadway. I shudder to think.

Marijuana may ease pain (from a medicinal point of view), but like any other drug, it is both dangerous and illegal. Not only can the effects of Marijuana impair your judgment and motor skills, but this can lead to possibly hurting or killing someone else. If you find yourself in situations where Marijuana is present, you really need to question who you are hanging out with as well as what direction you want your life to go in.

Over the years I have noticed how everyone’s beliefs can differ in relation to whether they think that smoking is an addiction or simply a habit. This core belief has a missive impact upon how easy or how difficult you find it to stop smoking. If you think that you are addicted to smoking then you will find it more difficult than if you thought it was just a habit. Your thoughts and beliefs shape your experiences about everything in life, not just stopping smoking.

Not only will believing in the addictiveness of smoking impact upon how easy you find it to stop smoking, it can also create a justification for remaining a smoker. It becomes easy to say to yourself “I’m addicted now so I can’t stop smoking” and then not even try. Also, if you think that smoking is an addiction, it is easier to fool yourself into the belief that continuing to smoke is not your fault – that you cannot help yourself because you are the victim of an addiction. This thought pattern is anything but empowering!

To stop smoking easily you have to get your mind around this subject. It is important to ask yourself why you assume that smoking is an addiction. We know that innumerable chemicals are produced as you smoke even a single cigarette and this may lead one to believe that smoking must therefore be addictive. But we also know of many people who have decided to stop smoking and have done exactly that; they stopped smoking and didn’t get withdrawal symptoms, not a single symptom. We know others who tried to stop and didn’t manage it. We know people who got angry when they stopped or put on a lot of weight.

Everyone is different, and the different experiences will always reflect one’s expectations. If you want to stop smoking easily, it’s important to work upon your expectations and in this way you pave a pathway to success. One thing which is undeniable is that smoking is indeed a habit. Each individual has their own associations with smoking; some people only smoke socially, others never smoke socially. Some people don’t smoke until after breakfast, others smoke before they even get out of bed. Some smoke when they are happy, others when they are sad.

Smoking is a habit which can be associated with feelings and emotions, places and times of the day, events and circumstances; smoking can be linked in your mind to anything and everything, and as a matter of habit, whenever that situation or circumstance pops up, out pops the cigarette, and you are smoking before you’ve even had time to think about it. It’s as automatic as brushing your teeth or tying your shoe laces.

It can take time to train your brain to change a habit, no matter what that habit is. If you decided that from tomorrow you were always going to put your right shoe on before your left, or vice-versa, you would probably have to put a post-it note on your shoes to remind yourself that this is what you plan to do. Otherwise you would have your shoes on your feet before you had time to think about it! Habitual behaviors are ones which you just do, they just happen. You do not consciously think about doing them, they are part of a “sequence” and they are driven by your subconscious mind. Therefore to change a habit you need to somehow get into your subconscious mind to “unpick” that sequence.

It is for this very reason that hypnosis is such a successful method of stopping smoking. Hypnosis is a state of relaxation which is both normal and natural. You pass through hypnosis every night as you fall asleep. In hypnosis you have access to your subconscious mind, where these habitual beliefs and behaviors are stored. In hypnosis you can truly get your mind around your smoking habit and you can change your beliefs and expectations. With the help of hypnosis downloads, you can see smoking from a different angle, seeing it as purely a habit as opposed to an addiction, and train your mind to expect it to be easy to stop smoking.

If you expect it to be easy to stop smoking this is what you will experience. Hypnosis really does make it easy to stop smoking. By using hypnosis, you can learn to imagine yourself as you want to be, and this is very important. Whatever you imagine you create, and so it is vital that the pictures you see in your mind’s eye reflect your new expectations of quitting easily. Hypnosis allows you to get your conscious and subconscious minds in alignment, so that both parts of your mind expect the same results. You therefore get away from those old feelings of knowing that you shouldn’t smoke but at the same time wanting to smoke. With the use of hypnosis you will no longer be “in two minds” about stopping smoking.

If you want to stop smoking hypnosis downloads can be used to truly get your mind around this habit and therefore make it a whole lot easier for you to quit.

Okay, the question is, can you Drug Detox At Home? You need to ask yourself some things first.

What kind of drugs have you been taking? For instance, if you have been smoking marijuana, unless you are a very extreme case, you can and probably should detox at home. Although still give your doctor a quick visit just to be on the safe side. If on the other hand you are a heroin addict, I would suggest that you think very carefully before attempting to do this on your own.

Some people will want to do this at home. While this will not be easy, it is possible. After all, you were the one that has to give. You must have good strength of mind. You are the only one who can make it happen.

The first thing you must know is that you are more than likely in for a period of withdrawal. This is going to be physical. So you want to make sure that you’re comfortable. Have plenty of water and food in the house so you don’t have to do venture outside. You will need enough of everything for about a week, unless you have someone to take care of you.

You can also buy some over-the-counter medication from your local chemist. Get yourself some anti-diarrhea pills, something to help you sleep, some painkillers, and something to stop you vomiting.

If you can, get someone to stay with you. This can really be helpful for moral support, and to help you out if things are getting rough. If not, at least try and get someone to drop in on you every day.

When the first few days are over, and you’re starting to feel better, try and get as much exercise as you can. A walk around the block to get some fresh should really help you.

As I said earlier, some people should not try this. You should always, always visit your doctor for his advice before attempting home drug detox.

People talk a lot about side effects of smoking marijuana, there are also side effects to weed withdrawal. The following items are list contains a number of items you may experience when you quit smoking marijuana

1. Lack of sleep.

This is one of the first things you’ll notice if you decide to quit marijuana. You may experience pretty severe insomnia within the first few days of quitting. If you were a person who smoked before bed, you may find the first weeks pretty tough.

2. Not much of an appetite.

The anxiety, lack of sleep, and change to your daily schedule can cause you to lose your appetite. But you need to eat! Make sure that when you do eat, you aren’t binging on junk food, and that you are getting lots of fruits and vegetables. If you don’t feel like eating a full meal, snack of some nuts or sunflower seeds.

3. You’ll get angry.

That’s another thing that’s really common. I am sure you’ve been around someone who decided to quit smoking regular cigarettes, right? Do you remember how easily worked up they were? Tell the people you are around to expect it so that they go easy on you!

4. You may feel pretty depressed.

You’ll want to smoke. In fact, you’ll want to smoke so bad that the thought you can’t will make you really miserable. That will pass when the weed withdrawal is over, but it will last until you’re clean. Remember to let your friends know you’re quitting so that they are prepared. Some people smoke to mask their underlying depression, so if you quit, you are going to feel that in full force!

Health ministry in Austria imposed an immediate ban on the sale and distribution of the herbal incense “Spice“, which some people have taken to smoking for its hallucinogenic and psychodelic effects.

Smoking mixture Spice, which is sold legally in a number of countries as an exotic herbal smoking blend that releases a rich fragrance when burned, would be banned from sale immediately in Austria because a cannabis-like substance, synthetical cannabinoid JWH-018, had been found in it, the ministry said in a statement.

While the effects of taking the substance JWH-018 had not yet been fully determined, the risks were deemed to be high, the statement added. Thus, an immediate 14-day ban had been imposed until a more permanent ruling could be reached, the statement said.

Which smoking mixes contains JWH-018?

The herbal incense mixtures with names such as Spice Silver, Spice Gold, Chillin XXX, Spice Diamond, Yucatan Fire, Spice Arctic Synergy, Spice Tropical Synergy, Spice Egypt, are currently freely available in Europe.

While initially marketed as an incense, posts on Internet forums devoted to drug use have extensively praised the effects of the mixtures when smoked. Spice has been banned in Switzerland since the end of last year.

Municipal authorities in the German city of Frankfurt recently commissioned a specialist pharmaceuticals laboratory, THC Pharm, which makes medicinal substances from cannabis, to examine Spice Diamond, Spice Gold and Yucatan Fire samples and found the substance JWH-018 in all of them.
