Marijuana is known as the most commonly used drug in all of America. While many feel the use of marijuana is not dangerous, what they do not realize are the numerous effects it has on the body with its long term use and abuse.

To understand marijuana’s effects is to first understand what types of chemicals are in the drug. The largest most mind altering drug within marijuana is THC. THC is a strong chemical that rapidly passes from the smoker’s lungs into their bloodstream, from which is then transferred to the brain and organs.

Scientists have dug even deeper to see how THC affects the brain and body. What they have discovered is that the brain has cannabinoid receptors which are triggered when THC enters the bloodstream. Some people have more cannabinoid receptors than others. What do these cannabinoid receptors do? Because a large majority of these receptors are located in the pleasure center of the brain as well as the part of the brain important for memory, thinking, concentrating, sensory and coordination, THC thus affects these parts of a person’s life. This means that an abusive smoker can begin losing their memory, have distorted perception or difficulty thinking. The biggest threat is on one’s memory as scientists have discovered it can impact how one can learn or what they can remember for weeks at a time.

THC is also addictive in itself, which means when the smoker stops using marijuana they will begin feeling withdrawal symptoms. These symptoms may include, but are not limited to anxiety, loss of appetite, insomnia and irritability.

Physiologically, marijuana also has adverse effects on the heart. One’s heart rate is increased shortly after smoking. This increase in heart rate can last for up to three hours. Because of this, users of marijuana increase their chances of a heart attack the first hour after smoking the drug.

Smoking marijuana also affects the lungs. The smoke from inhaling marijuana has fifty to seventy percent more carcinogens than tobacco smoke. This can lead to lung cancer, an increase in lung infections and other possible respiratory illnesses.

While marijuana is occasionally prescribed for medical reasons, doctors are cautious about handing out prescriptions due to the potential for its abuse. Marijuana is also considered a ‘gateway’ drug as many users begin to lose the high they gain from marijuana and begin seeking it in more powerful drugs that are even more damaging the body and addictive.

Abusing marijuana, as with any other drugs, effects not only the user but those who are close to the user. These individuals may include immediate family, friends or co-workers. If you or a loved one are suffering from marijuana abuse, it is often a wise decision to contact a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. There, a program will be fit to your needs to better assist you with a overall healthy and positive recovery.

Drug test confidentiality ensures that the employers, who report negative for the tests are not able to tamper the results of the tests. The companies too, take great care while conducting these tests as these tests can often lead to a person losing the job.

Significance of such tests

Many of the drugs usually result in accelerating the nervousness and heartbeat of the consumer. They result in euphoria and pleasant effects, but in the long run lead to sever behavioral changes. The companies ensure to maintain respect in the eyes of their customers. Any impertinent behavior of any of its employees can lead to trouble and confusion. Thus the companies these days require all their employees to undergo the drug test. The companies enjoy all the rights to reject the applicants if they report positive for any of the drug tests.

The confidentiality of the tests is thoroughly maintained

The companies are professional and maintain the confidentiality of the results. The results are not disclosed to any other employees. Even the labs performing the tests are enforced by law to strictly maintain the confidentiality of the drug tests.

Saliva test for drug testing

THC oral drug test is performed to check the presence of THC in the saliva. Again the positive results will not be beneficial for you. This test provides same results as obtained from the blood testing or urine testing. Labs are increasingly using the oral thc test as this does not require any special staff to take the samples from the people. It can also detect the use of the drugs in the previous hours to a few days.

How to pass a this test?

I suggest you must try a combination of different methods such as increasing your intake of water, taking foods that are rich in protein such a red meat, exercising regularly to burn the fat cells that store THC. It is always recommended that you must not eat anything 3 hours before the test. Also, avoid drinking plenty of water immediately before going for the test. Certain detox kits enable you to pass drug testing as they absorb all the toxins from the body.

You can certainly clear the test if you follow these methods.

Marijuana is a dreaded term in the world of drug addiction. It happens to be one of 200 names for a substance similar to tobacco, composed of dried leaves, stems, flowers and seeds of the hemp plant. It is a dull colored mixture in various shades of gray, brown and green and is often referred to as weed, pot, grass, herb, hashish and boom. Hashish happens to be the most potent form of marijuana. The substance contains an active chemical called THC or delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol. Irrespective of the form in which it is consumed, it has a strong impact on the way the mind works altering its responses and behavioral mechanism. Marijuana was initially used for medicinal purposes, to heal and numb severe pain, but its addictive powers gripped thousands who tasted it and needed respite from problems. Today, it is banned legally but is smuggled through secret channels and commands exorbitant prices.

Marijuana can be smoked like a cigarette with the powder rolled in special paper, and lit at one end. Its absorption when consumed in this manner is almost instantaneous, reaching the part of the brain controlling emotions like pleasure, concentration, thinking, memory and coordination. Its unification with the nerve cell receptors negatively affects these activities. Consequently, feelings like pain, sorrow, stress, and depression give way to an elated feeling however short lived it may be. This probably explains the reason why people are so easily addicted to it and become obsessed about it. Marijuana becomes an all consuming passion with people thinking about ways and means of procuring it, waiting in animated anticipation about the joy of having it, and are paranoid about not being able to get enough. The need for it is so intense that values, principles and morals are all forgotten just to be able to get marijuana. The most alarming aspect of taking marijuana is that the body begins to crave for the substance, and gradually the body reaches a ‘high’ after taking increasing quantities of it.

Addiction to marijuana is the toughest thing to shake off. Even alcohol addiction is easy to overcome in comparison. Even though addicts are well aware of the consequences of their addiction, they are unable to give it up no matter how hard they try. They tend to consume more to forget what harm it is doing to their body. The addiction comes with a social stigma attached not just for the addict but also for his whole family, who begin to feel like social outcasts.

Addiction to marijuana has long terms effects like difficulty with remembering, incoherent thought process, inability to concentrate and work consistently. This triggers off related problems like absenteeism, lack of commitment and seriousness towards the job at hand. It is then only natural to find addicts being fired from work or being gracefully asked to resign. Friends and eventually family disown such individuals when matters get worse consistently. He begins to be perceived as a threat to society and he is shunned completely.

Addiction to marijuana is like being afflicted with a disease, and needs proper, organized treatment which is generally a combination of medication and counseling. The counseling sessions often rope in family members and those falling in the addict’s immediate circle. Behavioral therapy also reveals encouraging results for addicts and helps them overcome their urge to smoke this substance. He needs support and reassurance at every step and the end result has to keep him motivated to give up this habit. He needs to think of all that he will gain in the long term, if he gives up on the feeling of bliss and ecstasy that is purely transient after smoking this substance that most believe to be worse than poison.

Marijuana is a tobacco-like substance, dull in colors like green, gray or brown, made up of dried leaves, stems, seeds and flowers of the hemp plant. Known by over 200 names, it is an addictive substance commonly referred to as pot, herb, weed, grass, boom and hashish is its stronger form. In whatever form it is taken, it alters the way the mind works as it contains an active chemical called THC, or delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol. Initially used for medication and healing, it became dangerous, dreaded drug in the 1970s as its addictive powers gripped thousands and became a forbidden drug that was smuggled into countries.

Marijuana is terribly addictive and obsessive. It is smoked almost like a cigarette and gets absorbed into the body almost instantaneously. It reaches the brain and united with receptors of nerve cells, affecting that part of the brain, which controls pleasure, thought, concentration, memory and coordination. It then impedes these activities. A person gets addicted to it very easily and it is peddled so much that it is often easier to procure than alcohol. Addicts think about the drug all the time, where and how to get it, how to raise funds for it, forgetting values and principles just to be able to get marijuana, and the fear of not getting it in the future. The biggest problem of its addiction is the body’s physical craving for marijuana, and more and more quantities are required to reach that level of bliss.

Marijuana addiction is far tougher to shake off than alcohol. It is so addictive that the individual is unable to give up when he knows its ill effects and the consequences of its addiction. It gets him caught in the vicious circle of wanting to take it to escape the consequences of its consumption. The stigma attached to it engulfs family members as well.
Marijuana addiction leads to problems with remembering, incoherence, inability to learn and leads to absenteeism, lack of seriousness at work. This could culminate in losing one’s job and earning capability. It would also turn him into a social outcast often disowned by friends, and sometimes even by family. A marijuana addict is even treated as a threat to society and many steer clear o him for fear of getting dragged into this addiction.

This addiction is really like a disease, which needs to be treated over a period of time with medication and counseling. Behavioral therapy adopted by some organizations committed to eradicating marijuana addiction are known to get encouraging results in hundreds of cases. An example of one such organization is the Spencer Recovery Center, which hires professionals only to treat marijuana addicts and have a fantastic success rate due to their committed approach.

Health ministry in Austria imposed an immediate ban on the sale and distribution of the herbal incense “Spice“, which some people have taken to smoking for its hallucinogenic and psychodelic effects.

Smoking mixture Spice, which is sold legally in a number of countries as an exotic herbal smoking blend that releases a rich fragrance when burned, would be banned from sale immediately in Austria because a cannabis-like substance, synthetical cannabinoid JWH-018, had been found in it, the ministry said in a statement.

While the effects of taking the substance JWH-018 had not yet been fully determined, the risks were deemed to be high, the statement added. Thus, an immediate 14-day ban had been imposed until a more permanent ruling could be reached, the statement said.

Which smoking mixes contains JWH-018?

The herbal incense mixtures with names such as Spice Silver, Spice Gold, Chillin XXX, Spice Diamond, Yucatan Fire, Spice Arctic Synergy, Spice Tropical Synergy, Spice Egypt, are currently freely available in Europe.

While initially marketed as an incense, posts on Internet forums devoted to drug use have extensively praised the effects of the mixtures when smoked. Spice has been banned in Switzerland since the end of last year.

Municipal authorities in the German city of Frankfurt recently commissioned a specialist pharmaceuticals laboratory, THC Pharm, which makes medicinal substances from cannabis, to examine Spice Diamond, Spice Gold and Yucatan Fire samples and found the substance JWH-018 in all of them.
